The intention of Los Angeles designer Carlo Aiello was to create a simple, light and porous yet highly sculptural parabolic chair. His task was to combine all the details of the chair into one integral surface, supported by a minimal structure: seat, armrests and backrest.
Although the chair has a bidirectional curvature (hyperbolic paraboloid), all of its components are straight and easy to manufacture. To achieve the ideal comfort of the chair, all recesses and roundings are carefully calibrated and calculated to maintain the body in a comfortable position.
