The Baroque style is rightfully read as one of the most pompous and identical styles not only in architecture, but also in interior design. This style originated at the end of the 17th century in Rome, then gained popularity among the inhabitants of Venice, Florence and gradually gained recognition throughout Europe. Despite the fact that the peak of popularity of this trend in the interior fell on the 18th century, there are still a large number of its adherents today.
Baroque interiors are, first of all, a special splendor, scale and royal grandeur. The rooms, decorated in this style, resemble examples of palace art. They are full of amazing floral ornaments, necessarily decorated with sculptural elements, elegant frames, cornices and twisted columns. Not only walls, but also furniture, windows, and even dishes are made in ornate curved lines, reminiscent of garlands, wreaths, climbing stems or seashells.
The main distinguishing feature of the Baroque style is its universal recognition. This direction is almost impossible to confuse with others. Its special pathos is achieved by plentiful and expensive decor. In the solution of interiors, precious woods, marble, bone, precious metals are used. Furniture items are often upholstered with exclusive fabrics with soft fringes. The main colors of the rooms created in the Baroque style are white and gold.

Numerous satin pillows, voluminous bedspreads with original edging, original lambrequins, elegant tassels and various pendants are an integral part of such an interior.
Furniture elements such as couches, armchairs, footstools resemble smooth curved shapes. Sofas certainly have a wavy surface and a strongly bent back. Familiar chests in the Baroque era were replaced by elegant bookcases or bureaus. A variety of chests of drawers with drawers, transparent showcases and round tables with a massive marble top fit perfectly into such an interior. The main characteristics of the beds are the richest decor and massiveness. In their appearance, they even more resemble royal tents than ordinary beds.
In the Baroque era, new finishing materials began to be used - stone mosaics, ivory, porcelain, mother-of-pearl. In order for the daytime lighting to be brighter, large windows were installed.Numerous mirrors made it possible to visually enlarge the premises and change the space. Artificial lighting at night was organized with the help of candles of various sizes, framed in silver or wooden carved candlesticks. Today they are successfully replaced by electric lamps or massive crystal chandeliers.
Particular attention in the process of creating interiors in the Baroque style is given to the design of the bedroom. During the heyday of this direction, it was the main place in any home. Noble nobles received their guests right on a luxurious bed. That is why a lush and sophisticated decoration is created in the bedroom. Today, decorative plaster, soft striped wallpaper, original stucco decorations, various frescoes and curbs.
Separately, it is necessary to mention bed linen. It must be made of expensive high-quality materials and decorated with designer prints. A distinctive feature of the bedroom can be a luxurious canopy that securely covers the bed from prying eyes. You can not do without neat bedside tables, with floor lamps installed near them. An indispensable attribute is an exquisite dressing table and a soft ottoman, on which the owner of all this magnificence will sedately sit.
No other interior will emphasize the richness and chic of the house in the way that Baroque does. However, despite the ostentatious splendor, it necessarily retains such a feature of the classical style as absolute symmetry. Today, lighter and more versatile solutions of the Baroque style embodied in the interior are in fashion. They harmoniously transfer the features of solemnity and aristocracy to modern premises and allow you to feel like a stately nobleman, whose life is filled with exceptionally pleasant events and secular celebrations.
