Recently, more and more often you can find bathrooms where wooden flooring and wall coverings are used.
The most common type of wood for bathroom flooring purposes is teak. Other water-resistant wood panels are now increasingly being used in similar finishes.
Of the hardwoods that have reached our borders from Central and South America, the well-known Brazil nut is highly valued. It is considered to be one of the densest hardwoods and is an ideal material for bathroom wood flooring. Its density is so great that it sinks to the bottom when immersed in water.
Brazil Walnut wood is strong enough and resistant to mold, slip and fire, which is ideal for a wooden bathroom floor.. However, it should be remembered that in order to avoid deformation, the wood must be well dried before use.
So does the Brazil nut have any downsides? At $4 per linear meter, this is by far one of the most expensive hardwoods available. Although, if you include the factor of strength and sustainability in the long term, then such investments are worth it and are fully justified.
