The harbor area of Hamburg is undergoing a massive renovation. By 2030, more than two kilometers of the coast should be completely built up with the most modern business centers, hotels, and public buildings. The architects of the Hamburg studio Boge Lindner 2K Architekten realized in time that in order not to get lost in this turmoil of the new, you need to actively remember the old. They chose a difficult but true path - they interviewed more than 30 old local sea wolves. The stories told by the veterans are at the heart of the 25hours HafenCity hotel project. Each of the 170 rooms of the hotel is stylized as a steamship cabin and carries a real old story. The whole hotel is designed to resemble the atmosphere of the old Hamburg port.
