September 5, 1933 was born Erik Vladimirovich Bulatov, a Soviet artist, one of the founders of Sots Art.
Sots-art arose as a caricature of the Soviet reality; gained the greatest popularity in the era of perestroika. Reworking the symbols of social realism, social art tries to free viewers from ideological stereotypes, sometimes causing shock with their artistic techniques.
The objects of Sots Art are collages, which use Soviet semi-official surroundings, up to everyday things - and are used provocatively, with a great deal of irony.
The interior, in which the object of Sots Art is entered, as a rule, does not involve a lot of furniture, but each item in it carries a certain semantic load.
This style is in many ways suitable for those who are not afraid to discard conservatism and traditional ideas about the interior, who want to reflect their worldview in the space of the apartment, free from any ideological clichés.
