New trends from New York Design Week 2013

WantedDesign was founded in 2011 by Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat and immediately became a landmark for design lovers.

During New York Design Week, its curators presented groundbreaking new designs. In 2013, in addition to the usual presence of American manufacturers, designers, design institutes, the exhibition welcomed participants from many countries around the world. The Launch Pad concept provides a launching pad for independent designers of all levels. They exhibit their work in the hope of finding a manufacturer, ideally putting their product on the main production line.

Designer Danielle Trofe showed off the original Sundial table lamp. In addition to the exquisite shape, the idea of a power source for the lamp is original. The lamp is powered by the kinetic energy of falling sand, which drives the LED elements. By turning the lamp over, you renew the light source. This revolutionary idea fits in well with modern concepts of energy saving and the use of alternative lighting sources.
