CSS Architects have designed a very successful seaside residence Seadrift in Stinson Beach (California, USA). The project embodies modern concepts of the use of natural resources and energy saving. Only the stove runs on bottled gas, all other systems: heating, hot water, electricity and ventilation are based on natural resources and are provided by solar photovoltaic panels installed on the roof.
Particularly successful for the architects was the part of the "Sea Drift" facing the coast. Since the water level rises to a meter height, this part of the building is framed as a sea pier. The terrace adjacent to the living room is made entirely of natural wood, the deck board merges into a single whole with the interior space of the house thanks to a huge panoramic window. The pier is located taking into account the convenience of boarding boats and boats, the terrace furniture resembles beach furniture. The one-story house is designed for a large number of guests, so its furniture is large-scale. In the living room, large sofas comfortably surround an exclusive hanging fireplace – not only functional, but also beautiful.
