Decor of the week: Microworld Lori Nix

Brooklyn-based photographer Laurie Nix creates miniature interiors. She has previously worked with surreal landscapes and scenes, and has recently become interested in microdesign. Most of the work is done by hand, miniature parts are molded, glued from cardboard and foam. At the same time, one interior takes several months of work. Together with her assistant Kathleen, the artist works in her own living room. Lori creates a general concept, works with light and colors. Kathleen (a glass artist by training) works in painting and architectural detail. After creating the interior, it sometimes has to be artificially aged or polluted.
