The opinion of many experts about the extraordinary difficulty of the reconstruction of the ancient heritage was confirmed by the new robot of the Italian studio Benedini Partners, which undertook the restoration and reconstruction of a villa in Mantua (Italy).
There are many historical buildings of the 15th-17th centuries in the ancient city, and the object of the work belongs to them. Restoration of fragments of ancient mosaic and stone floors, ceiling paintings and stucco decorations cost great work for restorers and architects - and they did an excellent job with the difficult task. It was much more problematic to bring the mansion to the requirements of comfort according to modern standards, without losing the charm of antiquity. In some rooms, this was done successfully - in the fireplace room, the old wooden carved ceiling is perfectly combined with old carved furniture and new sofas of the original form. In one aesthetic and color range, new and old paintings, forged wall sconces "antique" are brought together. The room is organic, where only the old hearth and cracked ceiling beams remind of the old age of the building.
Unfortunately, the inevitable eclecticism sometimes becomes far-fetched for designers. In the large living room, a large black-and-white photograph and plastic chairs hurt the eye, falling out of the general interior and its color scheme, determined by dark carved furniture, ceiling paintings.
