There is no need to talk about the serious design work carried out by the VIVA VIDA design studio during the reconstruction of a farmhouse in Utrecht (Netherlands). The owners of the house are the heirs of the old building and with trepidation they preserve all the main structures, materials, old household items left over from their ancestors. Therefore, the main task of the designers was to decorate the old premises with modern decorations, and we can talk about independent design only in relation to several rooms - children's attics, a small living room, and a bathroom. At the same time, modern decor (for example, large photographs and paintings on the walls, colored countertops) often does not match or simply disharmonizes with the general style. It seems that direct styling would look more appropriate and natural.
