- You should not choose bulky, massive pendant chandeliers, as well as low droplamps coming from the ceiling. It is more expedient to purchase flat-shaped ceiling lamps and small chandeliers. Remember: if the stream of light is directed upwards, and not downwards, the walls of the room will visually appear higher. A ceiling darkened in the center with LED strip lighting around the perimeter will provide the same effect. Do not neglect a variety of spotlights, which are ideal for multi-level suspended and stretch ceilings.
- A low, “pressing” ceiling is easy to visually lift with bright lighting: the brighter the light, the higher the ceiling appears. Various distracting elements of the interior also work well: unusually shaped floor lamps and intricate floor lamps, catchy flooring with an original texture or color, etc.
- Do not forget: all lighting fixtures should be made in the same style with the overall interior and be in harmony with it, and not fall out of it. Size and light play an important role. Choose lamps and chandeliers in light, cream and yellowish shades - this technique also visually “lifts” low ceilings.
- If finances allow, build suspended ceilings in the room, decorated with illuminated glass stained-glass windows. Glass can be plain, transparent, frosted, with a pattern that matches the style of the room, or with an imitation of the bottomless sky, which easily turns from azure morning into cobalt night with the help of internal lighting. Glass suspended ceilings always look very advantageous, giving the room airiness and lightness.
- In rooms with low ceilings, it is very important that the light flow is directed vertically. Floor lamps with high legs, original table and floor lamps that scatter thin rays upwards, wall sconces and illuminated panels, showcases and drywall niches, also illuminated along the rear inner wall, and newfangled lighting devices on conductive tires will help with this.
