In the restoration of a large country house near Austin (Texas, USA), the designers from Jauregui Architects set out to follow the fashionable rustic style in everything. This task is fully completed in the exterior of the house - from the facade the house looks untouched, modern roof materials, new doors are chosen with taste and tone. The back side of the house, saturated with modern elements (swimming pool, furniture, paving slabs on the lawn), does not spoil the overall impression. In the interior of the house, the designers had to make too many concessions to the requirements of comfort, in order to talk about a genuine rustic style - it turned out rather to be its imitation. masonrythat abounds in the house look too sleek, the ceiling beams look too new, the decorations look too frilly. Wall prints and a French street sign in the kitchen absolutely do not match the style. Only the stairs from the hall to the second floor fit into the style completely.
