Grey - a neutral color, but due to impurities of other colors, shades of gray can be divided into three categories: cold gray, warm gray and gray-green. Within these categories, shades can also vary. Whether gray is classified as a cold or warm category will depend on its shade - impurities of a different color. For example, gray-blue is colder than gray with a red tint, because blue is colder than red. However, warm grays tend to be more violet than red, and this violet-gray is colder than red-gray, although warmer than bluish-gray.
Depending on the amount of blue in a green hue, gray-green is also sometimes referred to as a cold category. For decorative purposes, it is very important to correctly determine the shade of gray for choosing accent colors.
Grey-blue with a green tint
The admixture of green turns the standard gray-blue into a warmer version of this color. It successfully contrasts with orange, which is complementary to blue, that is, located on the opposite side of the color wheel. A greenish blue-gray also works well with those colors that are next to it on the color wheel - the so-called analog color scheme.
For the interior of the bedroom, gray-blue walls, a carpet and a bedspread will be a good choice. Complement this soothing decor with curtains in a soft gray-green hue, as well as pillows in blue-gray, mustard and gray-green. An accent chair with antique French-style finishes and mustard-colored upholstery will highlight the chosen scheme.
Grey-blue with a purple tint
The walls painted in this color will be a good background for the interior of the kitchen. Cool blue-gray with a dash of purple makes the most contrast with orange-brown wood flooring and furniture, especially if you add bright purple accent details.
A collection of decorative dishes in white and bright purple colors will add visual interest to the interior. And white curtains embroidered with blue-gray pattern will tie this color scheme together. Cool purple gray
