A duplex apartment (162 sq. meters) in Sao Paulo (Brazil) evokes an ambivalent impression. The design, which was worked on by the famous architects of the FGMF Arquitetos studio - Fernando Forte, Lorenzo Gimenez, Rodrigo Marcondes Ferrazo, was built taking into account the preferences and tastes of customers. The expanded space of the apartment (obtained by the demolition of walls and partitions, interfloor overlap) is mainly used for a huge library. Simple open white shelves with multi-colored books completely overshadow all the efforts of designers. Where they tried to be original by raising decorative ornaments to a height of five meters, it looks strained and not functional. Against the backdrop of the library, expensive custom-made furniture, an original lighting system that moves along the ceiling rails and changes its slope is invisible. The emphasized functionality of the house completely canceled the artistic design.
