Apartment in Athens

A very controversial project was presented by the Athens design studio "Studio Architects" (Greece). A two-story apartment in an abandoned factory building is a prime example of how one design element can overwhelm the decorators' best efforts. The designers left intact the rough concrete ceilings of the apartment. As a result, the loft has acquired all the features of techno design and does not look like a living space. Eclecticism is also manifested in the use of incompatible forms of elegant author's armchairs and coarse lamps, open electrical wiring. Realizing this, some decor elements had to be deliberately made in a techno style: this includes rough metal frames of tables and chairs, tables and coasters made of euro pallets.
