Interior of the week: French chalet

The exterior of a 19th-century French farmhouse has remained virtually unchanged since a major renovation. Its deep modernization for permanent residence did not affect the general style of the interior, which retained all the features of a wooden chalet. The changes have affected comfortable fixtures, which are especially visible in the kitchen, in the bathroom. Wood has become the main material of all interiors, sometimes to the detriment of aesthetic qualities.

This is especially evident in one of the bedrooms, where the bed appears to be placed in the middle of a warehouse. But the designers managed to combine tiles and ceramic elements in the kitchen with wood. Alpine design is perfect on the outdoor terrace, where fur-covered chairs, a simple wooden table, wicker lamps, and the surrounding mountain landscape are combined.
