Interior of the week: Villa above the sea

The owner of this house, a well-known collector, antiquary Richard Shapiro - Part-time designer. Accidentally hitting the territory of a plot for sale in the area of Broad Beach (Malibu, USA), he was amazed by the view. An art critic with a keen sense of art managed to build an amazing house that organically combines the Mediterranean style, modern ideas about comfort, and fashionable design trends.

From the facade, the house is surrounded by greenery. White walls, natural roof tiles - make it look like an old Spanish or Italian coastal villa. For greater effect, coarse rustic elements of natural stone, massive wooden doors, typical window bars. The picturesque descent to the sea is made in the same style.

From the sea side, the house looks completely different - like a large glass wall, completely open to the seascape. Huge glass doors create a common space between the large hall and the patio. The interiors actively use antiques, antique sculptures, stylized, aged decorative elements. The creation of this masterpiece required three years of hard work from the owner.
