Interior of the Week: American Farmhouse

The idea of building a farm for spouses Tim and Sarah protein architect Ken Pursley brought back from a trip to Cumberland Island, where he saw some beautiful old buildings. The farm building in the suburbs of Chester (South Carolina) is traditionally called, in fact, it is a country house for a large family. From the outside, the building makes an excellent impression. It has many original architectural elements - a double roof, a canopy of a veranda, window glazing. The house is organically integrated into the idyllic rural landscape.

The interiors of the residence produce a dual impression. The desire to preserve the flavor of antiquity resulted in the use of eclectic elements (wire chandeliers, hemp ropes, metal stools), which, against the backdrop of modern decor and technology, look alien. Only the premises of the second floor, where there is no ostentatious passion for antiquity, have become truly residential. A cozy living room with two-light lighting, an original bedroom, a gallery in which natural wood and wild stone are stylishly used.
