Dance of shadows and light in the design of a high-tech mansion

Welcome to the world of surreal architecture. It is difficult for modern architects to refuse creativity, they love to use non-standard approaches, new materials and create scenarios. But this project is somewhere on the verge of reality, and the main character of this music, frozen in stone, is sunlight, which creates the mood and supports the main concept of the authors.

The main idea of the architects was: freedom, lightness and the ability to appreciate every moment of life, feeling its uniqueness and beauty every second. Despite the assertion that the idea of the house was born from the contemplation of the surrounding landscape - dynamic and urban, it is difficult to find at least one standard solution in a finished house. However, the dynamics and movement here are the basis of the project.

unusual shapes

The shape of the house resembles a huge snow-white liner, soaring in the blue of the sky. There are practically no walls in the house - they were replaced by huge windows from ceiling to floor. And the bridge, as a path to the entrance to the house, resembles a ladder. With so much glass, it's hard to see the boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces. Everything is interconnected, one interior flows into another, and the garden and pool become part of the interiors.

And if the first floor is visible through and through from any point, then the second is more private, although the concept of a certain openness is preserved in it.

Dancing shadows

To create different scenarios of natural lighting and a kind of dance of light and shadows, some design techniques allowed. For example, blinds made of white metal, in which the slats are located with a large gap, and the light, penetrating through them, draws intricate patterns of shadows and light in the rooms. Or the staircase, which, like everything in the house, is designed so that the light through the roof is refracted through the steps.

This game involves pools, and even garden trees, which also become participants in this action, especially in the evening under artificial lighting.
