Outrageous loft-style interior with elements of a hunting lodge

Loft style is absolute freedom of expression and the possibility of implementing bold and sometimes the most extraordinary design projects. In the presented project, the architects decided to link two seemingly incompatible trends into a single concept - loft and hunting style.

What do you imagine when it comes to a traditional hunting lodge? A small wooden hut or a modern log house with a fireplace, skins on the floors and comfortable furniture - in any case, this is the realm of wood, comfort and focus on the theme of hunting. It is almost impossible to imagine all the components of this style in a modern loft, but difficulties only stimulate creativity, and this project is proof of that.

How it all began

The apartment in which the new interior was to be made is located in a former industrial building. The main advantage is three huge windows, the view from them is not inspiring, but the room is visually enlarged and filled with natural light. In order to level the unpresentable view from the window of the neighboring building, we decided to install windows with a geometric layout.

The brickwork on the walls was restored, but the color and aged appearance of the cladding were preserved so that such wall decoration would not overload the interior - one wall was plastered in white.

To create the atmosphere of a hunting lodge, the ceilings in the room were opened, revealing wooden floors, which were supplemented with pillars and additional beams to make the ceiling layout more symmetrical. This technique helped to visually hide the huge load-bearing metal structure located near the windows. It was painted to match the tone of the tree, and it organically fit into the overall ensemble with wooden poles. Swivel ceiling lights on black rods and a nickel-plated chandelier on a metal chain in the dining area are a traditional lighting option for a loft style.

Furniture and accessories

The furniture and accessories in the living-dining room are fully consistent with the hunting style - a Chesterfield leather sofa, a designer coffee table made of wooden logs, comfortable armchairs and a massive dining table with two wooden benches. There is a deer's head on the wall, a soft carpet with a long pile on the floor, many small accessories on open shelves and dry tree branches in floor vases. Of course, a fireplace and skins are not enough to complete the picture, but here the designers went for a little trick.

The master bedroom is located on a high podium, which is separated from the common area by a matte black painted wall. There is a small door in the wall to access storage areas under the podium. This design is very reminiscent of a fireplace - there is no fire, but the association is born.
