Duplex apartment interior design - Scandinavia meets Asia

When Western and Eastern cultures converge in interiors, everyone is already used to this, but the combination of the Scandinavian style with Asian motifs is interesting and unusual.

Just such an interior design project was realized by a group of architects who worked in close tandem with the owners of the apartment. The joint efforts have led to the fact that the descendants of the fearsome Vikings feel great in the renovated apartments, filled with a Zen atmosphere.

nordic chic

Traditional Scandinavian style reigns in the decoration of the premises - white ceiling and walls, dark oak brushed floors. The atmosphere in the interior is created by details, accessories and furniture.

The apartment has a large percentage of glazing - there are large facade and dormer-type windows. Accordingly, natural light penetrates the premises all daylight hours at different angles. To enhance this effect, part of the floor on the second level, about twelve square meters, is made of tempered three-centimeter glass. Swivel lights are installed under the glass floor to create intimate lighting on the second level in the evening.

On the first level there is a living room with a kitchen and a dining room. The ceiling above the kitchen-living room is not blocked, and above the dining area there is a glass ceiling. From the kitchen-living room you can go to a spacious terrace, there are two of them in the apartment. The kitchen set separates the living room and dining room, it is made of glossy white MDF and almost merges with the walls and ceilings. The staircase to the second level is simple, made of painted metal, reminiscent of a ship's gangway.

Furniture and accessories

In the living room there is a soft group with a large soft sofa, which can accommodate a large company. Two designer chairs upholstered in black velvet on chrome-plated metal legs echo the style of coffee tables with black marble tops with white veins. Combine the design with a white soft carpet with a high pile.

Dining area with fireplace and large table, chairs upholstered in black velvet. Underfoot is a soft gray carpet.

Zen atmosphere

Asian motifs are presented in sculptures, paintings and accessories - this is the head of a Buddha, a full-length sculpture of an Indian god, a bright silk Roman curtain and many other small and large details. It is these things that create an unusual atmosphere, fill laconic strict interiors with warmth and color. This is especially felt in the rest room on the second floor. Glass floor, designer chandelier, low sofa and glass tables create a light, unusual, slightly futuristic space.

The softness of the interiors is given by white curtains, which cover not only the windows, but also part of the walls. You can fully appreciate this effect in the master bedroom. Here the play of textures, colors and styles reaches its climax - ebony headboard, black leather bedside bench and armchair, soft home textiles, red nightlights with bright feathers and colorful pillows.

The design of the bath is more like a spa somewhere on the shores of the warm sea. The geometry of the walls and the shelf resembles a cave, the white bathtub and soft sofa guarantee relaxation and relaxation, and Asian-style accessories add warmth and exoticism to the interior.

This is a very unusual project, technologically advanced, bold and certainly worthy of attention. He inspires new ideas and convinces that, with the right approach, interior design has no rules and restrictions.
